The Foundation received 522 applications from music creators, of which 31 applicants were awarded grants. 13 received a €32,000 and 18 a €8,000 grant. Project grants were awarded all together to 3 applications. All applicants have been informed of the decisions by email.
GRANTS FOR CREATIVE WORK, INTERNATIONAL BREAKTHROUGH, AND GROWTH AND DIVERSITY OF THE MUSIC INDUSTRY
In the 2025 grant application round, funds were awarded for creative work, international breakthrough, and purchases or services that advance the applicant’s career. The granted sums were substantial, either €32,000 or €8,000.
Grants were awarded to professional, long-term creators at a high level who represent a diverse range of music genres, such as film, folk, instrumental, jazz, chamber, children’s, world, pop, rap and R&B music as well as musical theatre and opera.
Continued project grants were awarded to the Music Business Master’s program launched this autumn by the University of the Arts Helsinki that aims to promote the growth of the Finnish music industry, and to the Diverse Music Industry (Moninainen musiikkiala) project approved for funding by the Foundation Board already in January 2025. Additional grant was awarded to Nordic Music Partners Helsinki Oy.
”This round highlights creators at the forefront of Finnish music who currently have the ability to reach a new level in their creative work and their careers. Project grants were awarded to innovative projects that align with the goals of the Foundation and have the potential for long-term impact” says Foundation Director Teijamari Jyrkkiö describing the grant awarding criteria.
CREATIVE PEACE FOR MUSIC CREATORS
The autumn 2025 application round was the first to be conducted on the Foundation’s own online service. It was communicated on the Foundation’s new website and social media channels. In June 2025, the Foundation appointed its own expert committee that consists of music creators, experts in the music industry and/or in creating music. The committee assesses all grant applications and prepares a recommendation for the Foundation Board.

The next grant application round takes place from 1 to 21 March 2026. Project grant can be applied for throughout the year. The Foundation does not provide status updates or justifications for its decisions.
